And the Winner Is...

The Color Festival

A few people asked me what the color festival is.
I hope these pictures can do the talking.

This would be the Krishna Temple.
Every year the welcome with a massive chalk fight!

We decided it would be pointless to buy our own chalk since after only a few minutes, this is what we looked like.

This would be the inside of my shirt. It was equally as covered. Final Result from this chalk fight was.... Chalk in...My mouth. My nose. My ears. My eyes. My hair. Blisters on the bottom of my feet (Thanks to 3 miles of walking! Shouldn't have worn flip flops!) My clothes have gone through the wash twice...on number 3 and still covered...mostly in pink. My hair also washed several times...but my scalp is still pink and purple. And I'm still blowing purple chalk out of my nose. It was completely worth it all of it! It was a fantastic day!

Question of the Day:

I feel as if everything always likes to fall on me at once.
The good stuff and the bad.
This weekend ALL the good stuff is happening and I got a tough choice to make.

This weekend do I choose to....
A) Go to see Natalie sing at the YW conference.
B) Go to the Color Festival
C) Go to St. George with friends for the weekend.

Like I said tough choice.

Friday.

Friday I had the funniest drive I've ever had to work & had to share.
I made a stop for some food on the way in.
El Pollo Loco is right on my way and always quick so I went there.
Normally I have trouble understanding the person taking my order and Friday was no different.
His thick accent made it hard to understand anything he said.
When I got to the window, the gentleman was a blonde headed guy with NO accent!
My thought...must have been a different guy...
Next thing I know it, the guy is speaking in a completely FAKE spanish accent on the drive thru headset.
Funniest thing EVER.
Not sure why he did it, thats for sure, but I wanted to burst out laughing then and there.

After leaving there I ended up at a traffic light stopped behind a Scion TC which belonged to one of
Jean's Golden Girls! As I found out from the license plate cover.
I tried to take a picture, but the sun was shining right on it, so I couldn't get one to turn out.
One the light went green, I of course, wanted to see what this Golden Girl looked like.
I pulled up beside her...and there it was.
A handicapped parking permit hanging in the front window.
I don't know about you, but I find it VERY hard to believe that a Golden Girl passes for handicap.
These ladies know how to get their groove on, thats for sure!

I got to another stoplight where there is always a Little Cesars employee waving a big sign for Hot-N-Ready Pizzas. It was a really nice day out, and this guy had a massive puffy coat on, hood up and all.
People are interesting to say the least.

Needless to say, I arrived to work in a VERY good mood.

The Sister Adventure

Friday Natalie and I decided we wanted to spend Saturday doing something super fun.
I came up with a great idea, since the weather HAS been so nice, it would be fun to go shopping up at Gateway. Yeah, HAS is the key word. Saturday was yucky, but we decided to go up anyway.
We didn't get quite the adventure we wanted, but we still had fun.
Even if our hair got ruined the second we bought our TRAX tickets.
Rain, Snow, and Hail didn't stop our fun.
TRAX was fun, because it was fun to relax and talk and not have to drive. Plus, we got some great entertainment from two cute little girls who were all dressed up in their princess dresses on their way to Disney on Ice.

We ate lunch at California Pizza Kitchen, which was kind of a disappointment.
I usually love the place, but we decided to try some pizza's we've never had before.
One of which, was really gross. And the second one, being just ok.

We couldn't pass up photo opp's at Forever XXI

It was pretty much an awesome day!

An actual "word" from Nicole

Widow: (verb) to deprive of anything cherished or needed.

I'm currently sulking.
Tyler left today.

He won't be returning to me til the 22nd.
I have been officially "widowed"

He's in his best friend Jeff's hometown today: Alamo, Nevada.
So small he can't get cell phone service.

He'll be driving to Long Beach tomorrow.
Sunday he will be getting onto a cruise ship.
This means one very long week with no communication.

I'm pathetic I know.
This is the longest I've ever gone w/o talking to him.
I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself.

Good news is Day 1 is finished.
Only 8 more to go.

February Happenings

February was so busy happening, I didn't have any time to tell about it.
Even though its come & gone, I feel the need to tell all, because it just so happens to be my favorite month of the year.
I started the month off at one great basketball game!
I know I am in the right place when BYU is wearing my favorite color while playing Utah. Yes, they were sportin pink! I loved it.
Plus we won!!!

I love Valentines Day & Love my birthday...so having them back to back basically rocks! I spent Valentine's up in Midway with a bunch of my cousins, and Tyler came too.
Since it fell on a Sunday, celebrating was a little more weird than usual, but still lots of fun!
The Friday before we celebrated the holiday by going to Color Me Mine & dinner with Mitch and Chelsey. Then Saturday afternoon we hit up The Movie Valentine's Day together. It was a cute show, and was so happy Tyler offered to go, because getting him to watch a chick flick, let alone, pay for one is a pretty big accomplishment. Then to top it off, he got me Roses.

My Birthday was a fun day too because it landed on President's Day this year.
No school. No work. What more could I ask for?
I spent the day with my mom, looking at sewing machines (yep, happy birthday to me...domestic style) and shopping.
I made the mistake of eating at Cafe Rio for lunch...
I shall explain why it was a mistake later.

For dinner the 'Rents, Tyler & I all went to Tucanos.
I love their food, it is amazing and I ate way more than I should have...
However, to make it clear. I didn't feel stuffed or overly full.
One way or another, I ended up with food poisoning, so not fun!
I'm positive it was my Rio.
Regardless, I still had a pretty great 21st birthday!

UVU hosted an All Night Mardi Gras Party, just last weekend! It totally rocked.
It was my favorite UVU activity I've gone to thus far.
The pics aren't all that great, cuz it was LATE so I look disgusting, but don't care enough not to share.

There was a hypnotist show that was hilarious.
Two of the contestants hypnotized ended up sitting on Tyler and I's lap.
Totally cuddled up to us. It was the funniest thing ever. Best show I've seen.

...so there is February for ya.
I feel so much better having shared!

Bad News

Work yesterday was rather sad!

My favorite work buddy (besides you, Mel of course) Brett gave his 2 weeks notice.
He's an awesome cousin & its been fun to work with him at Century 21.
I'm gonna miss him around.
But I'm also really excited for him because he's quitting, because he got a new job!
He is majoring in accounting and got a great internship, so of course, he had to take it!
He's gonna be awesome, but I'll definitely miss him!

Ready for more bad news?

My apartment contract is not sold.
The girl who was interested, decided to text me nonstop for 3 days.
Got my hopes way up.
And then suddenly decided it was too far from where she worked.
How stupid is that?
So I continue to cross my fingers that it sells soon!
So if you know anyone...please send them my way.
The sooner the better, cuz March is totally free!!!
...plus, its a totally awesome apartment.
I loved my time there!

Why Don't You Just Be Who You Are?

Something I just can't figure out: Cross Dressing...Sex Changes.
I just don't understand it.

We've all heard these phrase a million times...

BE YOURSELF.
NEVER CHANGE WHO YOU ARE.
BE WHO YOU ARE.

I think this is one of the most important lessons we learn in life. It's so easy to wish we were someone else, or try to be like someone else hoping people will accept us if we change... so to go to the EXTREME. And completely change YOU. It makes no sense to me. If you're a man, why on earth would you want to be anything other than a man??? Does anyone understand this? I sure don't.

Everyday at school I see the same guy, who dresses as if he were a girl, but people know. He's not fooling anyone.  Even he knows it. He'll never be the real thing, so what on earth is going through his mind???  Does he like all the negative looks, or the double takes people give him? I simply don't understand.

Oops!

Seems like just about everyone has a funny young driver story.

Natalie officially has hers, it happened on Monday.

The only problem is that it is still too recent for her to find funny.

but I thought I'd share...

Love ya Sis!
Just glad it was an accident with a fence & you're safe!

and as dad put it, "better the fence than my truck!"

oh...and thanks for the laugh!

It is a little late in the day, but I couldn't end it without wishing Rach a very Happy Birthday!
She's still just a youngster, but an AWESOME friend.
I love her to death and am so lucky to have her friendship.
If I ever need a pick me up or a good laugh, Rach is my girl.
I hope she has a fantabulous 19th BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday "Little Joyce!"
Hope the day was great.
