A Trip To Florida...Or So I Had Hoped... :(

The other day....
My Mother came to me and said, out of the blue, "We need to go to Florida."
I was surprised it came out of her mouth, it was so random.
But of course, duh!
I couldn't agree more. But I had to ask...
WHY? WHERE ON EARTH is THIS coming from?

She proceeded to tell that when I was in the fifth grade we went to Florida,
coincidentally, I am her only child who has not had health problems
and surgery in the fifth grade!
She is attributing my good health to the trip to Florida.
So she thinks we need the trip.
Unfortunately though, she just took her fourth child, who is the youngest in
for surgery so she is a little late on the planning and so I am fairly certain
that she will not be following through on this vacation.
It was a nice thought though.
But a horrible thing to tell your daughter and get her hopes up! :(

FLORIDA...I miss you!

I think at MGM?

One of the teams I competed with in Florida.
I think I was the shortest one which is sad,
because no one from my real team went to Florida
so all but one of these girls is two years younger than me.

....THE CLIMB...

Miley has got a new song out!
And can I just say right now...I happen to love it.
Ha and I know what you are thinking.
Another Hannah Montana fan?

Ok, So what if I am?
I can't really say I'm a Hannah Montana fan though,
I'm more of a Miley Cyrus fan if that makes
any difference.

I was once the girl who made fun of her,
and yes...I still think she is overrated.
$800 to see her at stadium of fire?
COME ON PEOPLE
let's be serious?

Anyway, I just think her new song is really
great and that everyone should give it
a listen. Its on my playlist if you want
to hear! ...and if the title
of this blog didn't give it away,
the song is called THE CLIMB!

Rubba Dub Dub...We Love To Hot Tub

So Tyler and I go hot tubbing it seems at least once a week...generally on Thursdays. Well this week we planned on going to the Hot Pots up Spanish Fork Canyon with Chelsey and Mitch and I was pretty excited to go, but we had a little change of plans when the weather started to look a little sketchy. So instead...we settled for hot tubbing once more with them. I really enjoyed it, and can't wait to go up to the hot pots with them! I can't see them enough :) Love you both!!! Thanks for coming with me and Ty!

tHe WoNdErFuL wOrLd Of bAlLrOoM! :)

So...this semester I decided I was going to try something new, Ballroom dance. I've been dancing for what feels like FOREVER but I've never ventured to Ballroom. I'm currently taking a Social Ballroom Dance Class and also International Ballroom. Its a lot of fun, but boy, its kicking my butt! I think everyone assumes that I am a "dancer" and therefore it should come easily and I should be good at it? Wrong! All I can say is that I am not! I'm no good at all. Its a lot of work and none of my previous dance training seems to carry over at all. Here is what I have learned so far.

Fox Trot: Kinda boring, but fairly simple to remember. As long as you can keep rhythm and and know how to follow the lead its all good! I get to test on this one this week, so I guess I'll see how it goes :)

Quickstep: My least favorite, by far. It can be fun, but mostly its just hard and miserable. Its pretty technical, hard to count, fast, and needless to say...weeks and weeks after learning it, I'm still no good! I competed this dance a month ago, and got knocked out in the first round, which is all good. That was what I was shooting for, because I didn't want to continue making a fool of myself any longer. I had a "surprise" test on this dance today as well. I was not happy about this at all. I got the dates wrong and kinda panicked but I'm glad I got it over with, and I even got off with a pretty good score. Thank goodness my partner knew what he was doing!

The Cha Cha: This one is my favorite! I love love love it! Not much else to say, other than its a blast. And I am enjoying it! There are a few things in this dance that I actually feel like carry over from my previous dance experience and that makes me smile!
Triple Swing: Also very fun, and enjoyable...haven't done much with this one yet, which is a scary thought since I compete this one next week yikes!

The Waltz: A lot of fun, it takes work but I am liking it. I love the fact that it is slow!!! As opposed to the dreaded quickstep. I just want to keep improving and all will be well. haha.

The Polka: I had my first taste of the Polka today and it was a blast...I didn't even think I was going to like the polka. I had heard nothing but negative things about the Polka. But I thought it was so much fun. And finally! I get to put my terrific spotting skills to work! A large portion of our class hated the polka...we just learned the basic...which is turning non stop pretty much. Which made everyone sick and dizzy. But did it do that to Nicole? Nope. Nope. If there is one thing I know how to do, its turn! It was fantastic, until I got paired up with someone who couldn't turn to save their life! haha but oh well, it was GREAT!
