Rice Krispy Treats

Last night Tyler attempted to make Rice Krispy Treats for the first time in his life.
And he did a really good job.
Except for this...

Next time he will watch the marshmallows in the microwave.
He noticed this mess before it got any worse but even so, there was still marshmallow everywhere.
(take notice to the top of the microwave.)

For those of you who say I am the ONLY girl in this world who doesn't like chocolate.
(you know who you are...)
And for those of you who think I am weird.
Please read this and you will know I am not the only one.
As for weird...maybe I still am.

Wishes

Things I wish I could do:

Be able to let things go. Not hold grudges.
Be able to see where my life will be in 20 years.
To stop being a deep thinker for like 5 seconds and just stop worrying altogether.

Things I wish other people could do (and myself too!):

Be consistant.
Understand.
Be less judgmental and spend more time trying to walk in other peoples shoes.
Appreciate what is in front of you and worry less about what is not.

...take time to enjoy the small things in life, because one day you'll look back & realize that they were the big things...

Nicole likes...
this nice weather.
sleeping in.
girls' nights.
late nights.
that it is almost swim suit season.
the cleaning spree i'm currently on.
adventures and starting new things.
.................................................................................................

Nicole is sick of...
the Census Bureau, I talk to them at least 3 times a day.
(and usually its all within one hour, but I guess that is what I get for working for a Real Estate Company)
the pity from people when I "tell" them. I don't pity myself so why should they?
her blog layout.
bi-polar Utah weather...I'm praying it stays warm.
School. 2 words: burnt out.
....................................................................................................

Nicole feels...
happy.
productive.
brave.
indecisive.
confident in herself.
.....................................................................................................

Nicole loves...
amazing friends and family.
 pictures.
the ability to love in and of itself.
that summer is almost here.
people who tell you exactly what they think even if its not what you want to here.

Important? I think Not.

Can someone please tell me why I need to know Astronomy? I don't care if the stars look like anything or not .I can find the big dipper and thats about it. Why does it matter what degree the angle is between me & the north star? Someone please tell me why I am enrolled in such a pointless class. Please...cuz its 12:44am, I have an assignment due and a test to study for. Neither of which I have bothered to do yet.

Kids Say the Darnest Things

So I am lucky enough to get to be in Primary every week. I recently started going back to my home ward where my mom teaches the 4 year olds in Primary. Lucky for me, her team teacher is not able to make it a lot of the time and since there has to be 2 adults in there I get to be adult #2 on a regular basis. Primary beats going to Sunday School and Relief Society, that if for sure!

I love singing all the songs and listening to the cute kids in Jr. Primary give the talks. But best of all, I love the funny things little kids say. Every week there is at least 4 or 5 funny new one-liners that make my day. So I figured it would be selfish of me not to share a few of them.

One week we were talking about baptism...and a little boy in our class very bluntly said, "I do NOT want to be baptized. I'm not doing it, my mom didn't do it so I don't think I will. I'm not going under that water!"
(His mom is in the Primary Presidency & obviously has been baptized!)

One week we were talking about Joseph Smith and the kids were supposed to answer some questions about Joseph. One question was When was Joseph Smith born? It was a pretty tricky question for all of them, so several had been guessing. One little girl got all excited cuz she knew the answer and she yelled it out, "He was born on his birthday!!!"

The week we talked about baptism was definitely a winner, we were asking the kids how they can be prepared to be baptized since they aren't old enough yet. The answers we kept bringing up were praying, loving our family like Jesus Loves us, reading scriptures, go to church, keep the commandments, etc. These were our "steps" to baptism. Later we got to walk on our "steps." Each one had a picture representing what we were supposed to do to prepare. When they walked on them, they were supposed to say what the picture represented. Their was a heart for love others. This cute little girl got to it and said, "Fall and Love and Get Married!" The rest of the lesson she kept using that as her answer, guess its no joke that girls in Utah in are in a rush to get married. Sounds like it starts at Age 4!

One lesson required a first aid kit as part of the object lesson, explaining the purpose of each item in the first-aid kit. Not thinking my mom pulled out RUBBING alcohol wipes. And said they were alcohol and told the kids what they were used for. Most the class had no problem with what had been said, but one little boys eyes got REALLY big & he looked at me and goes.."THIS IS ALCOHOL?" He was pretty concerned, so we had to explain the difference.

There is a really shy girl in the class and she hardly says a word. The lesson was about the Savior and if the Savior was on the earth, wouldn't they like to be with him if he said, "Come Follow Me?" This cute little girl, louder than ever before, says, "I WOULDN'T GO. I'D STAY HOME." and if you knew her, there was a lot of honesty in her answer. She's pretty attached to her mom and doesn't like to do anything out of her comfort zone.

We were supposed to make clay pots for a lesson, so we brought salt dough. Bad idea...the dough was great the night before but had sat in the car during sacrament meeting and condensation had built up. The clay ended up being a sticky gooey mess...all over the kids hands. We didn't even attempt to make pots with it. As we were cleaning up their hands...one little boy just kept shaking his head over and over and saying, "My mom is NOT going to be happy about this."

One little girl is always telling us funny little things about her family that don't pertain to the lesson at all, this last Sunday she told us that her family used to live in Tennessee BEFORE she was born. Then went on to inform us how much she loved living in Tennessee. I got a kick out of that one.

They keep me so entertained and love how innocent they are. If you ever need a little cheap entertainment, just spend 5 minutes in Primary!

Birthdays...Weddings...Graduations...OH MY!

I know I already posted once today, but I have a day off and nothing to do...So figured I may as well catch up on everything I haven't blogged about.

Friends take the Back Burner during finals...
So when a GREAT friend has a birthday. I forget to post!
It was my LONG time friend Shantel's Birthday clear back in April.
She was my VERY first friend I made when I moved to Lehi as a little 6 year old girl.
And we are still friends to this very day.

True friends can go long periods of time without speaking and never question their friendship. And pick up like they just spoke yesterday, regardless of how long it has been.

This quote perfectly describes Shantel. She is such an amazing friend

We did a girls dinner at Tucanos to celebrate her birthday.
We decided it was a mistake to take pictures AFTER we ate.
We wish these were all taken before since I felt 10lbs. heavier leaving!
My side of the table.
The other side of the table.
Me & Gorgeous Birthday Girl.
After Ky's brilliant idea failed.
Maddie, Ky, and Ali decided to sing Happy Birthday at the top of their lungs for Shan!
If I didn't know any better I'd say they'd been drinking! ;)

Thanks for letting letting me celebrate 20 with you Shan! You are an amazing friend. Love you girl!

In other news...
My friend Danielle got married on the 3rd!
She was a gorgeous bride!
I envy her beauty.
Especially in this picture...
Congrats Dano & Derek!

Last but not least I thought I'd post some pics from Kev's graduation!

Congrats again Bro!

Fishing=Success

Last Thursday we took a "Girls Only" fishing trip.
It was short, but so much fun. And definitely different than our normal activities.
I caught me a fish within the first couple minutes of being there.
I had no idea what I was doing and it was sorta funny. Good thing Hope was around.
It was just a little thing but I had to get a picture!
Poor fish: I dropped it twice on the rocks trying to keep the little thing in my hands.
Hence why I'm using 2 hands. 1 wasn't working out at all!
I had lots of fun but definitely need to work on my fishing skills!

Thank You Bob!

(whistling)
Here's a little song i wrote,
you might want to sing it note for note,
don't worry, be happy
in every life we have some trouble,
when you worry you make it double
don't worry, be happy
dont worry be happy now
dont worry be happy
dont worry be happy
dont worry be happy
dont worry be happy
aint got no place to lay your head,
somebody came and took your bed,
don't worry, be happy
the landlord say your rent is late,
he may have to litagate,
dont worry (small laugh) be happy,
look at me im happy,
don't worry, be happy
i give you my phone number,
when your worried, call me,
i make you happy
don't worry, be happy
aint got no cash, aint got no style,
aint got no gal to make you smile
but don't worry, be happy
cos when you worry, your face will frown,
and that will bring everybody down,
so don't worry, be happy
don't worry, be happy now...
don't worry, be happy
don't worry, be happy
don't worry, be happy
don't worry, be happy
now there this song i wrote
i hope you you learned it note for note
like good little children
dont worry be happy
listen to what i say
in your life expect some trouble
when you worry you make it double
y!dont worry be happy
be happy now
dont worry, be happy
dont worry, be happy
dont worry, be happy
dont worry, be happy
dont worry
dont worry be happy
don't worry, don't worry, don't do it,
be happy, put a smile on your face,
don't bring everybody down like this
don't worry, it will soon pass whatever it is,
don't worry, be happy,
i'm not worried

Over the last few weeks my life has changed a lot and its been a little rough & the great words of Bob Marley keep popping in my head. "Don't Worry, Be Happy." It's easier said than done (Bob made it look easy but then again...he was probably high), but somehow I find great comfort in them, and they make my day just a little better.
Just Thought I'd share :)

Here is my Non-worried happy face this evening.

Thanks Bob.
