Thanksgiving

This year I was overwhelmed by all the things Tyler and I had to be grateful for. We have been so lucky this year considering we are both students and also newlyweds. We have had an amazing year and been so blessed. Here are just a few of the many things I thought of.

1. A new job (for me)
2. A great tax return (not that it went to anything fun, just school!)
3. An almost free trip to Hawaii
4. 2 Amazing Families who have been incredibly supportive of us.
5. The gospel, being lucky enough to have been in two great wards this year, and also for our callings that we have enjoyed/still enjoying.
6. Being able to go to school (sometimes it doesn't feel like such a blessing)
7. Great friends, anytime I get together with any of our friends I realize how great they are and how lucky we are to have them as our friends!
8. An affordable and great place to live.
9. Good health...I've joked a little bit that we have insurance, but have hardly got any use out of it and its almost not worth it to be paying for it (especially because I'm still being covered on my dad's too), but we are very glad we've both been pretty healthy and also thankful that we do have insurance.
10. Each other, I can't speak too much for Tyler but I will say for myself that Tyler is definitely my rock and lifesaver. So glad I have him :)

This year we celebrated Thanksgiving with the Clyde Family. We started the day out with an early morning Turkey bowl and then dinner later in the afternoon at my Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Jeff's house. A week before Thanksgiving Tyler started asking me how a Clyde Thanksgiving goes and if its like all the other parties we have? He also had a big concern about if there would be enough food for him since there would be a large crowd and he did not want to run out of food on Thanksgiving and said he wanted to be able to eat as much Turkey as he wanted. I think the thought of running out of food even stressed him out a little. He also asked if we cut the Turkey, because he likes it left uncut? Of course we cut it? Are we not supposed to?  Well, Thanksgiving came and we didn't even come close to running out of food so I think he was pretty satisfied. It was great too to be surrounded by all 40 people in attendance. This year everyone in the family was able to make it except for my cousin Rachel and her family, who live in Ohio. We definitely missed them!

Goodbye Football.

Saturday was the last football game of the season. It was a cold one, but I didn't think it was as cold as last week's game. We had lots of fun this season and are more than ready for basketball. And I guess that's a good thing since the season has already started!

Dad's are Lifesavers!

Yesterday I was in Lehi and I got a call from Tyler saying that the Honda broke down. I kind of assumed it had just done what it has done a few times before where it just decides not to start and then as soon as I get there, it starts right up--I guess it thinks its funny. It hasn't done it though in 6 or 7 months, so in my head I'm thinking that yeah, its probably overdue to tease us again. I asked him where he was at, thinking he was still at his job site or at the park-n-ride, depending on what city they were working in. To my surprise it wasn't in those places at all, he informed me it broke down on the freeway. Awesome. Thankfully, with all the construction going on it happened in an ok spot where there was plenty of room for him to safely pull off to the side of the road instead of in the middle of traffic. I was at my parents house, so instantly I went to my dad and he was on board for the rescue mission. Because of the construction and where he was at it took us a while to get to him, but we did and my dad towed it for us! Don't know what we would have done without him!
Thanks Dad!!!

Christmas

I know its not even Thanksgiving yet, but I'm already stressed out about what to get my husband for Christmas! What do you get for the boy who WANTS nothing? Seriously, my husband is the hardest person I have ever shopped for. The last 3 years Christmases I have stressed buying for him because it has been the same story. He doesn't want ANYTHING! This year I decided to start to try to pull ideas out of him early. He didn't want to give me any but he agreed to a Q and A. It didn't really help. I know what he DOESN'T want now, but I don't have a clue what he actually wants. He doesn't want clothes, movies, BYU stuff (I know, CRAZY right? He did say he'd take it if it was really cool, but how am I supposed to know?), nothing to do with sports, no games, books, shoes, hats (but ironically 2 days after asking he bought himself another one!), tools, car stuff, and he's not a big fan of gift cards because they aren't personal and I don't blame him for that one...I could go on, but you get the idea. What he does want is a new job. Anyone want to sell me one of those???

The Definition of A Good Uncle

While visiting our neices and nephew they decided to do Uncle Tyler's hair. They first blow dryed, combed, brushed, and "pretended" to straighten his hair and then got the bright idea to put bows in it! He was a sport and let them have their fun.
Chaston decided afterward that it looked like fun, so he put them in his own hair!

H.A.L.L.O.W.E.E.N

This year I really struggled at getting good pictures of everyone's costumes, between my camera acting a little funny and taking pictures for other people with their camera's I failed to get my own.
I love the Clyde Halloween party, its lots of fun and always great to see what creative costumes people come up with each year.
This year didn't disappoint!
Tyler and I went as BYU cheerleaders!
We found these awesomely funny costumes and couldn't resist! Tyler's pants sold me!

In the words of Chels, "Who wears tight pants...Tyler wears tight pants!"
In the words of Tyler, "This is so gay. I look soooo gay. I'm going to split my pants."
I was very impressed by my mom's awesome sewing skills! She made Natalie and Nate's costumes and did a wonderful job...and by make, I mean she literally made Natalie's shirt from nothing. I don't think I'll ever be attempting to make anything of the sort! And again, I feel bad I didn't get pictures of all the other costumes! Click here and here if you would like to see additional pictures of our fabulous party!
