R.I.P. Michael

Michael Jackson passed away today...along with Farrah Fawsett! So crazy I can't even believe it. And although I think that Michael is a chester/creeper (there is a reason I posted a picture from his younger years...didn't want to scare anyone.) I believe he was amazingly talented and brought a lot of great music and most IMPORTANTLY: great dance moves to this world! He is a legend and will never be forgotten! No one will ever be able to dance like Michael! :(

White Out

Last weekend was white out at Studio 600...so here is us all in our white!

Clubbing was so much fun. We had a crazy fun time. I avoided smiling, because I am after all...brace face...and it worked out well since no one else did much smiling! Anyway. We had a good time...can't wait for our next dance night.

The Infamous Pink Room

So I've been kinda known to have this VERY pink room...that everyone is asking me about...and always asking HOW pink it really is...since it puts off an entire pink glow into our yard and before or blinds were in...it reflected off the snow clear into the street...which is saying something since my room is downstairs and my window well is taller than the window itself...anyhow...I got new bedding and a new bed for my birthday way back in February and lots of people kept asking about it and/or wanting to see it. So I decided I should FINALLY share. So here it is. I love it...my pink room is a big reason I still choose to live at home. I love my room!!!

Way to Put a Damper on It

So this weekend was going really great...
Went dancing last night at Studio 600. It was white out night and it was pretty much a blast.
Tonight Tyler and I WERE headed to the rodeo but RAIN had to ruin that for us. I am getting pretty tired of this rain ruining things. So much for summer!

Happy Birthday Brett!

Today is my cousin Brett's Birthday and I decided blogging is an excellent way to recognize birthdays! Cuz I don't know about you but I would loved to blogged about on my birthday! So I will start with Brett...
He's an awesome person to hang with at parties!!!

...not to mention a VERY good sport....

He happily played "grandma" for our Grandma Got Ran Over By a Reindeer performance at our family Christmas party.

Good old USA dance camp at Utah State.

DAY 3

It is day 3 of being a metal mouth. and they still hurt like no other. maybe i was tougher at 12 when I had them? I doubt it. Must be cuz they are cranking them more than they usually would. I want these suckers off as fast as I can. Tyler and everyone at work probably think I'm whiney and annoying...so sorry about that. Good news is...I can already see changes in my teeth so they are definitely working. Thats good news.

Brace Face

So about a month ago I had one of the most dramatic days of my life..

I kid you not.

The last time I was at the dentist...the dentist asked me if I had been wearing my retainer.

And if not...I should have a new one made, because my teeth were putting pressure on each other & he would hate for them to slip...undoing all the work the orthodontist did clear back in the day.

Last month. I went to the orthodontist to get an impression made for my new retainer. Once this was done...problem solved. no worries no more about my pretty little smile right???

YEAH RIGHT!

This became a dramatic day in my life. I'm kind of a perfectionist about my teeth and love how everytime I go to the dentist, they rave about how lucky I am to have such a good looking smile and such good healthy teeth.

Anywayz.... I leave the orthodontist office with not a worry in the world and no questions were asked. I went to work and went on with my day.

Later in the afternoon I got a call from my mom. BAD NEWS!!!

My teeth have moved...not a lot but they've moved. You have 2 choices.

Dr. Nelson is happy to fix it for you for free...a couple months with braces.

MY REACTION: yeah right! whats choice number 2???

Retainer. But your teeth will stay the same.

GAH! I hate tough choices.

So I got to thinking...but the more I thought the more I stared at my teeth in the mirror KNOWING something is wrong with them. And lets face it. I just can't stand that. Even though no one else knows. And wouldn't really notice. But me knowing that they could look better is something I just can't live with. So I gave in...

But not without a fight.

I wanted invisaline braces...til I found out that my orthodontist is personally not a fan and they would actually take longer to fix my teeth...and they turn yellow. gross. so that was also ruled out. :( Needless to say I gave in, and planned to get them thrown on right after Kevin's wedding. He got married on a Saturday and my appointment was on Tuesday.

The closer it got...the sicker I got...I was dreading doing it. Monday rolled around and I decided that I was cancelling my appointment and that I would go the retainer route. Cuz braces? At 20...kinda makes me feel like a loser...

I procrastinated calling to cancel though and as the day went on I literally got sick.

With the flu. Perfect excuse to cancel right :)

Haha I wish. I called...told them I was sick and couldn't come in and that I also didn't want them on anymore...

..too bad for me I suck at saying no.

The assistant who answered was like, let me verify this with the doctor.

And she came back and informed me that he HIGHLY HIGHLY reccommended

I do corrective work.

Suck.

So I rescheduled my appointment...and said ok.

D-Day arrived yesterday.

So now I have braces. And they hurt. And they are ugly. and I do not like them.

Tyler named me brace face. How nice of him :)

Luckily I only need them for a couple of months.

But it is only day 2...and already I want to rip them off!

Did I mention they make me look like I am fifteen???

People usually think that I am younger than I really am anyways.
This isn't going to help.

At Kevin's wedding the photographer asked who was older...

Her braces I thought would give it a way...right???

I'm doomed though, because she gets hers OFF next week.

So I'll be the sister with braces and she will be the one with Good teeth!

Bah. These dumb things better pay off.

FYI...I probably won't be posting pictures for a while...sad. I know. I love pictures.

But I don't love pictures with me in braces.

I already have plenty of those...and it was ok then...

because I was 11...12...13...NOT 20!

...And yes...I might be overreacting just a little bit.

I am after all my father's daughter.
I only have 6 brackets.

I don't know how many teeth I have.

But I know I have way more than 6.

But still...6 is 6 too many.

Highlights from this week....

Kelly Clarkson Concert

Wahoo.

This was so much fun. I went with Tyler, Mitch, and Chelsey and it was a blast. My friends Jaynee and Sarah came and hung out with us for a bit which was also fun. Kelly sounds amazing in person & is a great performer. I was a little worried about the rain, but it actually wasn't too bad!

Big Bang Theory

Tyler worked til like 9 one night this week so i had lots of time to myself that night. I watched the ENTIRE first season of Big Bang theory. I love that show. Its hilarious and in my opinion, i think it has one of the greatest theme songs...although i must confess...after watching episode after episode all in one night, it does get a little obnoxious. I decided hardly anyone has ever even heard of this show...and if you haven't, you are missing out! I would highly reccommend it! I'm ready to watch Season 2!

Hot Tubbing

Tyler probably gets really sick of this, but I think this is one of my favorite things to do. I would go everyday if I could. This week we went when it was raining outside which was super fun. Kept me from getting to hot to have cold rain falling down.

DATE NIGHT

Tyler and I went to Magelby's for dinner on Saturday night. I had never eaten there and it was really yummy. We also went to Summerfest to watch the fireworks go off. We didn't stay long but it was fun. Tyler introduced me to 24...one of his favorite shows that I have sort of been avoiding...but I really liked it! I'm gonna have to still the first season from him now...since I jumped in, in the middle of season 5!

PAGE...KEVIN...and PINKIE

Page and Kevin got home from San Diego on Sunday so we all went as a family to pick them up...sound Cheesy I know..but we had a good excuse. We went straight from the airport to visit our grandma Pinkie at my Great Aunt Carma's house. It was a fun little visit. Her health isn't too great but she's still so cute. She showed me her nicely painted nails...she even had rhinestones on them. I'm so glad I got to go and see her!

Kevin and Page's Wedding was on Saturday.
It turned out PERFECT!
I am so excited to have another girl in the family, because the boys are now out numbered. No more ties at the Schaefer household. Girls Win! Lol.

So their wedding ceremony was at 9 am so I had to get up super early cuz we left our house just after 7. I was a little sad to not be in the temple with them...since all my cousins my age are now endowed so I was the only one not in there but it was ok. I got to watch my cousin Jenny's new baby. Boston and he is such a cutie so I enjoyed doing that while they were in the temple.

We had a luncheon for Kev and Page at Joseph Smith Memorial and the food was AMAZING!
Best meal I think I have had there.

There reception was just at our stake center, but the decorator did such a great job making it look great!

Page and Kevin are now in San Diego enjoying there honeymoon :)

...oh and lets not forget...I caught ANOTHER bouquet....
hahahahaha.

The Bad Luck Bouquet

So whoever said catching bouquets meant you were getting married next was a LIAR. For any of you out there who believe it...its false. Almost a year ago now I caught one of those suckers. And yes mam...I am still single. Not that I am complaining. Just stating the facts. In my family alone since I caught the bouquet...there have been 2 going on 3 weddings...3 as of TOMORROW. So Chelsey, Jason, Kevin...you all beat me. And I am so with you Taylor...the more you catch the less likely it is to happen. So looks like my odds are looking more and more like yours...given that I caught the bouquet at Chelsey's too! :) So for any of you out there who WANT to get married...I wouldn't recommend catching bouquets or garters. They don't work.
