Dancing Divas

For those of you who don't know my mother-in-law Kim runs a dance studio out of Lindon and Santaquin. All 3 of our nieces take from her and every year its so fun to see them dance at their year end recital. This year was especially great, because it was the first year all 3 of them were dancing. It was Brinley's first year and it was so fun to see her up on stage too. I was a proud auntie watching them dance. They were the best and cutest ones up there! We're so lucky to have such a cute nieces!

Dance Day.

Yesterday was such a fun day. I spent most of the day with the Hunsaker girls and Schaefer girls. I was lucky and got to go watch the So You Think You Can Dance auditions in Salt Lake with some of the Hunsaker girls and then that night go with my mom and sister to the Cougarette concert. It was a very fun day. It was fun to see how exactly the process of the show and auditions went and also fun to see the judges and Kat Deely in person. It was particularly fun to see Kat, because we got to see her pretty close up. She was walking around and walked right behind where we were sitting several times. She isn't as tall as she looks on tv, but every bit as pretty. My sister-in-law Sara and her sister, Erin, almost ran into her at one point and got a "hi" from her.
The Cougarette concert was fun too. I've gone the last 4 years or so and always enjoy it. Last year I even took Tyler and he enjoyed it (even though he won't admit it now). Natalie and my mom have never been so they came with me this year. It was lots of fun. I love going to dance performances...I always leave feeling really pumped about dance and it makes me miss it lots.
Please excuse the poor photo quality.

Bad Blogger.

I haven't been a very good blogger lately at all. Life has been busy. Great, but busy. Here are some of the most recent happenings...

Schooling it...as always. This semester hasn't been ideal, because Tyler and I basically go to school on opposite days. Thankfully I haven't been working full time, so I still am lucky and get to see a little more of him. It does keep our lives pretty busy though! Tyler changed his major and he is officially a communications major. It's exciting to have a little glimpse of what we're working so hard for.

I went to State Drill Team with my sister-in-law Sara and my little sis. It's always fun to see whats new each year and who is the best. This year did certainly not disappoint. There were definitely some awesome dances and amazing teams!

It has been a month of Baby Showers galour! The last two Saturday's I've had attended baby shower's for my sister-in-law, Misty, who is due in March. I promised myself last Saturday that I would take a few pictures so I could at least have something to put on the blog but I forgot my camera and left my phone in my car. This Saturday I have 2 more baby showers for 2 other baby makers, so needless to say my Saturday's have been fun but busy.

My best friend, Jaynee flew in on Friday from Texas, so I spent Saturday night with her, Rachel, and Hope! Our lives are all so different now so it is seriously the best when we are all able to get together! We went to dinner at Los Hermanos and then spent the rest of the evening just talking.

Tyler has been luckily staying safe. They had an incident recently at work (see KSL story here), but thankfully him and all his crew were fine. There were a few injured but all of them are going to be okay. It really scared me and could have been a lot worse.

I tried ZUMBA for the first time and really liked it. I have been meaning to try it for it a while now and just never have. At first I wasn't so sure about it but it definitely got better as it went along and it was a great work out so looks like its going to be part of my weekly routine. It really made me miss dance though...you forget how much you love it when you aren't doing it. I'm thinking of starting Ballet Blast, because I hear it is awesome...feedback anyone???

It is VALENTINES tomorrow! I'm really excited...although I'm fairly certain Tyler is not. I think it stresses him out, but it shouldn't! I don't think Valentines needs to be extravagent. It is just a simple day, but such a great one to celebrate! We have a fun little date planned and I can't wait. I loook forward to this day all year! It is the best.

Happy Heart Day Everyone!

Christmas 2011

I'm a little slow at posting this, but better late than never.

We had a great Christmas this year and were so lucky to spend it with our families. We were also happy and grateful that we were able to attend church on Christmas Day and remember the real meaning of Christmas. We went to church with my parents and opened gifts and had breakfast with them. Some of the highlights of the morning were the look of surprise on Natalie's face when she opened her ticket to Wicked. She was shocked. Kevin also was also very excited to get a PS3. Not too many surprises for me this year. That's what I get for picking out my own Christmas! I did get a ticket to Wicked though too. We were all spoiled!

And yes, my dad INTENTIONALLY made that face.

We then headed to Santaquin to spend time with the Hunsaker's. We ate lots of good food, opened presents, and had lots of fun messing around with Tyler's mom's new toy! She got a Xbox Kinect for Christmas and it kept the whole family entertained. ...and if I must say so myself, my hubby has got moves...and so does the rest of the fam!

We were so busy with our families that it wasn't until 9 or 10 at night that we finally opened our presents from each other. Tyler really spoiled me. I got a new Nixon watch, Ugg boots (I was sooo shocked. Biggest surprise I think I've had ever!), perfume and some clothes. He got some BYU & Oregon apparel, movies, and a few other small gifts.

He was really stoked about that hat so he HAD to cheese it.

We really had an amazing Christmas and felt so blessed!
The best part of all was just being with those that we love.

Memorial Weekend

Long weekends are wonderful but never long enough.

Friday: consisted of family bowling. sadly, we took no pictures :( nobody brought a camera.
Nathan and his friend were with us and made it a requirement to dance after each bowl. My moves were lame. Tyler had some great ones when he wasn't too shy to bust them out. Nate and Brady's moves were very funny. They even busted out some Michael.

Saturday: Tyler and I went to a bbq at Chels & Mitch's cute new house. It was lots of fun. We enjoyed their company and appreciated the invite. We watched this movie:

I thought it was pretty good...Tyler on the other hand, slept thru it. So it looks like he is going to have to watch it with me again...haha.

Sunday: Church. Movies. Relaxin. Great dinner. Nice walk. Nice drive. Nice Day.

Monday: Family BBQ with the Bullock's. Visited the Pleasant Grove Cemetary. Dollar Movie to see Bounty Hunter for time #2 & Betos, seemed a good idea at the time but I have one word for it, gross.

My dad cleaning Grandma and Grandpa Schaefer's headstone.

 The finished product.

Me & My Siblings.

And I'm extra special and had one more day work free...since Tuesday's are my day off anyway.

Tuesday: Tyler's mom, Kim, had her dance recital and I went and helped out. Recital turned out fantastic. Here is a little clip of her awesome dancer's at her Lindon & Santaquin studio's gettin ready for the big event.

Dancers Block

You've all heard of writer's block.
But have you heard of dancer's block?
I may have invented it.
But newly invented or not, I clearly have it.
For my Advanced Jazz class, we're required to do a solo for our final.
But whenever I work on it, I get stuck.
EXTREMELY stuck.
All creativity leaves me.
I seriously will not be focusing on it at all, and ideas will just come.
But when it comes time to use my ideas of course, I can't remember a single thing.
I'm pretty frustrated about the whole thing.
So if anyone has a cure, please let me know!

Friday.

Friday I had the funniest drive I've ever had to work & had to share.
I made a stop for some food on the way in.
El Pollo Loco is right on my way and always quick so I went there.
Normally I have trouble understanding the person taking my order and Friday was no different.
His thick accent made it hard to understand anything he said.
When I got to the window, the gentleman was a blonde headed guy with NO accent!
My thought...must have been a different guy...
Next thing I know it, the guy is speaking in a completely FAKE spanish accent on the drive thru headset.
Funniest thing EVER.
Not sure why he did it, thats for sure, but I wanted to burst out laughing then and there.

After leaving there I ended up at a traffic light stopped behind a Scion TC which belonged to one of
Jean's Golden Girls! As I found out from the license plate cover.
I tried to take a picture, but the sun was shining right on it, so I couldn't get one to turn out.
One the light went green, I of course, wanted to see what this Golden Girl looked like.
I pulled up beside her...and there it was.
A handicapped parking permit hanging in the front window.
I don't know about you, but I find it VERY hard to believe that a Golden Girl passes for handicap.
These ladies know how to get their groove on, thats for sure!

I got to another stoplight where there is always a Little Cesars employee waving a big sign for Hot-N-Ready Pizzas. It was a really nice day out, and this guy had a massive puffy coat on, hood up and all.
People are interesting to say the least.

Needless to say, I arrived to work in a VERY good mood.

2010

How did I ring in the New Year, you ask?

...by dancing of course!

My Family & Bunker's & The Grandparents got together for a fun party!
We played Just Dance on the Wii, which is SUPER FUN!
I suck at it...I've onlywon once and I've played it probably 30 times now.
My excuse: this game has no clue how to judge REAL talent.
...or I might just suck, all I know is I get really intense and into it when I'm playing so win or lose it is a blast. We even had a "Drill Team Challenge" for all past & present drill girls.
All of us pretty much rocked.

It was like pulling teeth but I finally got Tyler up there, and what do you know?
He beat me, but what else can you expect from the son of a dancer?

Someone fell to sleep BEFORE 11. Just Dance must have worn him out.

...lucky for me I had a goofy sister & a new camera to keep me entertained all while he slept.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Good Luck Pionette's!

Today is my lil' sisters very 1st drill competition! I'm so excited and nervous for her. She's been competing at dance competitions since she was in Kindergarten, but drill just isn't the same! I love how intense it is and can't wait for her to experience it. The nerves are way worse though too, but I know she is ready to face 'em. I hope she does well and hope the whole team does well! I had the privelege of judging them this week so they had an idea of where they stood. They did really awesome so I hope they have a great season! I'm sad I can't be in Delta today for their first invitational, but will look forward to being at the UVU invitational next week! Good Luck Pionette's! and Good luck Nattie!

Time to Show Some Gratitude

Earlier in the week I started off by sharing how thankful I am for my little sister and I thought it would be nice to finish off the list.

More than anything I'm so grateful for my family. They say you can chose your friends but not your family. I don't really like this saying, because if I were to hand pick my family, I would chose the family I have now all over again. And when I say family, I mean ALL of my family...parents, siblings...including my cute new sister-in-law, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. I'm so lucky to be close to the majority of my family. My best friends are truly my family members and I'm so grateful for the relationships I have built with them. Just to get an idea of how close I am with my family I have to share a funny little story from a week or two ago...

I was down in Santaquin at Tyler's parents house and his mom was asking me what I was doing for Thanksgiving, I told her what side of my family I would be with this year and she proceeded to ask me if I switched off each holiday, or year, or what??? I started to say yes, and as I did Tyler muttered under his breath, "it's not really switching off if you have a party with them EVERY month." I couldn't help but laugh, because this is SO true. The Clyde side (my Mom's side) has lots of get-togethers. But for the record Tyler...we don't get together EVERY month...just most of them...haha. and some months WAY more than once! So yes...we do see a lot of each other. I wouldn't have it any other way. I love the Schaefer side every bit as much and wished I saw them more than I do!

I'm also very grateful for my health. I've been very lucky to have been given a healthy working body...I've had a few minor injuries, etc. but I am grateful that I haven't had anything that has held me back. I love dancing so much and know that there are many people who would kill to have my health and the abilities to do what I do. In my Jazz class I'm taking at school right now, the very first dance we learned was done as a tribute to a long time dancer and instructor at UVU. She was diagnosed with cancer and died this fall. Her niece just so happens to be my instructor and wanted to do this dance in honor of her. The inspiration behind her choreography and music selection all had to do with the words of her aunt, who last Spring talked about how health is everything and without it we are so confined and she was sad to lose her abilities due to illness. This really made me realize how lucky I am and I don't want to take my body for granted.

I'm grateful for Tyler. He's so much fun to be around and is always there for me when I need him around. This semester has been a tough one for me and some nights I get so tense and stressed and he shows up to help however he can. I think I'm pretty lucky. Sometimes I'm pretty sure I drive him nuts but he never admits it. He's always so thoughtful when I least expect it. Tyler's mom, sister, and sister-in-law all had tickets to the So You Think You Can Dance performance when it came to Utah this last month. His sister-in-law backed out (Thank you Sarah!)  and Tyler surprised me by buying her ticket for me! Such a nice thing to do for me for no reason other than to be nice. I was shocked when I called me...in fact, it was kinda funny. He called me during the day of and a BYU game was on so I knew his call MUST be important. I answered and he was more chatty than he ever is on the phone, he asked me if I had plans. I told him no and he said Good! Don't make any. I was then asked why, and he told me I was going to the performance with them. He didn't even tell me why, just left it at that and hung up. I had to text him to get the story. I probably told him thank you over a dozen times, but don't know if he had a clue how much this meant to me. The performance was amazing and it was fun to spend time with his mom and sis, Love you Ty!

I'm grateful to have a job! A year ago today I was my layed off from my previous job wondering what would come next. I wasn't really worried, because I have wonderful parents who are always willing to help me out when I need it and since I was living at home, money really wasn't an issue, but I obviously wasn't planning to sit at home and mooch off them. Luckily Century 21 wanted me back! I didn't even apply, I just have an AWESOME Aunt, who was willing to work me in. I love my Century 21 family, I work with so many fun, great people...this job might not pay the greatest but there are so many aspects of it, that make it great. Me being layed off was really an opportunity for me. I was having a hard time justifying quitting that job to go to school because I was being paid so well and HELLO...I've never been a fan of school, but once I was no longer needed there it allowed me to start going to school full time. Century 21 works really great around my school schedule and gives me just enough money to get by and in today's economy so many people are out of work that I'm just grateful to have something, because that is more than a lot of people can say right now.

I'm grateful to be in school...I can't believe I'm admitting this, especially with finals right around the corner, but it is true. School is hard, stressful, and a money eater, but it gives me purpose. I like knowing that I'm working towards something greater and love some of the things I am learning and new people I have met at school. It can be my worst nightmare at moments, but other times I feel that it is one of my greatest blessings!

I'm grateful for all of my friends! They're so much fun and supportive of me, I honestly don't see a lot of them very much anymore, because we're all doing our own things in life, but I'm still so glad for the relationships I have with all of them. One of my best friend's is getting married in just a few weeks and then eventually will be moving away from Utah. Jaynee's been such an awesome friend and support to me and I know I'm going to miss her tons!
Love you Jaynee!

I'm grateful for the gospel and the happiness it has brought me in my life, I would be in a whole other world I think without it. I'm grateful that my parents taught me well and the testimonies they have, which in turn strengthened mine. So many don't have what I have and I know I'm truly luckily to be a part of it!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
Gobble. Gobble.

Wow. I Just Wrote Quite the Tangent.

MIDTERM, SAY WHAAAT?
So I just found out like an hour ago I have a midterm...when?
Tomorrow?
Yeah, great.
On what?
Yoga!
I have no idea how to study for a Yoga midterm.
Is it written or is it just doing Yoga?
I have no idea.
Other than the fact it would be like impossible to test on us actually doing Yoga.
Why?
1. Only one teacher
2. What determines good? and Bad?
3. Yoga is all about listening to your own body. How will she know if we are listening?
You get the point.
If it is a test based on our ability...
I will probably fail.
Since we have "breathing exercises"...and I cannot do them.
YEah. Nicole forgets to breathe.
I also prefer to hold my breath.
If it is a written test...
I will also probably fail, since I don't know the names for anything.
Show me the position, and I will follow.
Sorry though, I still don't know what Vinyasa means.
Want to ask me what downward dog is though?
Or happy baby?
Or dolphin?
Or warrior 1?
I know those ones.
So wish me luck cuz I'm gonna need it!
Maybe I'm crazy but I thought Yoga was supposed to RELIEVE stress, not CAUSE it! Gah.
O ya, and I got a paper to write tonight. Oh joy.
I HATE English.
Good thing, once I'm done with this class, no more English for me.
I pretty much hate this week of school.
Good news though, I have an AWESOME dance teacher.
She cancelled class Friday just cuz we wanted her to.
And it gets better, our midterm was scheduled for Friday, but now we have til Monday.
Really that just means I have til Monday to forget EVERYTHING we did today.
So maybe that's not such a good thing.
But it is dance, and I love it. So I will survive.

ARIZONA IS CALLING MY NAME
.........................................................................................................................
So today my Aunt and Uncle from Phoenix welcomed a new baby girl into their family.
Her name is Mia.
And boy, she is a cutie.
I am DYING to go see her. Like I wanna jump in my car right now and drive all night long.
BUT...I can't thanks to school :(
Ok...School isn't the only thing holding me back.
There is work too.
bah....
I do want to visit Arizona though soon.
It's one of my favorite places in the world!!!
(might be only because I've never left the U.S. so I haven't seen the world. Just seen the U.S.)
So, I'm watching very closely for the first opportunity that presents itself and I will most certainly be taking off! I miss my cute little cousins A & Z and now I'm missing little M, even though we've never met! I can't wait to meet her so that is the same as missing her, right?
Oh and off course I miss Matt & Becky too!!!
I'm very envious of my Grandparents at the moment.
Why?
Because they are there! And I am not.

THRILLER

So Thanks to the Wonderful World of Facebook I had a rather surprising thing happen last week. My drill team coach from high school contacted me and other girls who have graduated since she has been coach wanting us to come back and dance with this years team at the last football game! I loved drill, and even though I don't really miss 6am practices or all the drama involved, I wouldn't trade those 3 years for anything, and I also couldn't pass up this opportunity. Especially since Natalie is now on the team and we've never EVER danced together. We're 5 years difference in age, so this was fun news!
I'll admit, I wasn't very good. My mom videotaped and I'm rather scared to watch it.
Me and the rest of the drill alumni learned the dance on Saturday, but spent a good portion of that time just making fun of ourselves and reminiscing so needless to say, most of us didn't learn it very well but we had fun which was the important part.
Just thought I'd post some pictures!

3 of my favorite girls
Rachel, Jaynee, and Kara.

Me and the Sis just gettin our freak on!

I Had a Ball.

So Jeff did an amazing job planning the inaugural ball. I was very impressed! I wish I had taken pictures of the decorations...simple but very elegant. It was a very nice way to recognize President Holland and his wife, who looked great by the way! Dancing was lots of fun, and in Tyler's words, "felt like Prom all over again!" ok. he may have thought so, but not me. Definitely didn't feel like high school. It was fun like Prom was but way less cheesy and just less "high school!" haha. I love getting dressed up though, and honestly wished I would have gone more formal than I did. But my original impression was that no one was going to be all out formal...if I would have known...I would have busted out my prom dress from Junior Year, but oh well! My bridesmaid's dress from Chelsey's wedding fit the occasion quite well! I wish I could get dressed up WAY more often, I find it to be so much fun! Anyone else with me on that one? or am I strange???

So in order of events....
First of all, Tyler was So NOT nice to me! Because he drug his feet like no other about going. He didn't show the slightest interest in the ball at all. I think I bugged him about it every day for 2 weeks. I heard every excuse in the book...
....work....
.....boring....
...costs too much...
...nothing to wear...

ALL SUCKY EXCUSES! here is why....he got off work BEFORE me. DANCING is NEVER boring! and Jeff hooked us up, we got in FREE! ...oh and the boy owns 90 ties! not kidding...and several pairs of cuff links. He most certainly had something to wear!

Tyler is NEVER predictable so I wasn't sure if he was coming or not, even an hour BEFORE! ya, how rude huh??? Little did I know, the whole time he was pulling my leg! I seriously didn't doubt that he was going to make me go alone, which wouldn't be a big deal, because it wasn't like an official "date" dance or anything, but still...why would I go to a dance without my boyfriend. He even went as far as to tell me he was not going and to go have fun dancing with all single guys there. He was so SERIOUS...but I honestly don't think he would ever expect me to so he I think he thought he was safe in saying it, it's a good thing I went, cuz BOY I would have showed him. Hahaha. JERK. jk. It wasn't the nicest joke to play on me, he really had me bugged, but oh well. Lol, that is Ty for ya.

Anyway...we weren't able to make it to the meet & greet with President Holland because I was still getting ready because I didn't have a whole lot of time between work & the time it started. On top of that, we realized we forgot to take a movie back to Blockbuster....and it already cost us way more than expected (there is a story behind this...I shall tell later...it involves Tyler's car!) Anyway, we had to take it back before hitting up the dance.

We got there just in time to watch Pres. Holland dance with his wife & then toasted to the Hollands' so that was fun...and from there on out, it was nonstop fun & dancing! Oh, and better not forget to mention the performances by the ballroom dance team. They were fun to watch!

Here are a few photo's from the event!
We took more candid shots than anything!

Me & Jaynee

The ever so fabulous, Rachel

Tyler's Awesome Dance Moves!
I was so impressed!

We were just having a fabulous time!

Um...No comment!

Me & Ty
...sorry...no "posed shots" of the 2 of us. None of them turned out unfortunately :(
(ok...it might just be because I look like I'm 8 in them cuz Ty convinced me to smiler, therefore revealing "brace face.")

Berk, Jeff, and Tyler

Berk & his girlfriend, Nicole
(Doesn't she have the BEST name?)

Jaynee & Cameron

This is just my proof that my hair lasted...this is like at 1 am
LONG after the dance ended!

Sorry for the blurriness on some of these photos.
They shouldn't be blurry and I can't figure out why they are!

EVERYTHING I HATE ABOUT BEING SICK.

Ok, lets face it. There is not anything I don't HATE about being sick! Maybe when I was younger there were things to enjoy, like a day off of school, but now as an adult, there are NO perks, because regardless how crappy I feel I can't miss class! Especially since over half my classes are heavily graded on attendance alone! Dancing when you're sick is NOT fun, I dreaded going to my advanced Jazz class today, because its a challenge enough when I am healthy, but when my entire body is aching BEFORE class, I know there is a problem! Luckily class was not AS bad as I thought it might be, and I actually nailed some pretty good turns, which usually doesn't happen on sick days since being sick knocks my equilibrium totally off! I hate the feeling, so I was shocked when I was actually able to turn! I have 3 papers to write this week and I am dreading them because my body is so tired and its so hard to focus on homework when all I really want to do is curl up in a ball and go to sleep! To make matters worse, when I do go to sleep, its not very good sleep, because my head is congested and I wake up because I'm unable to breath! So NOT fun! I'm hoping this bug is gone by the weekend, but we will see!!! Oh, and the UVU Inaugural Ball is tonight! My friend Jeff was in charge of planning the dance and i'm excited to go, but would be lots happier if I felt better! He did such a good job planning the GREEN OUT dance so can't wait to see what he's done for this one!
On a happier note: Found out today that my high school drill team, is doing a come back performance of thriller and bringing back the last 3 to 4 years of drill team members! I can't wait, I have missed performing more than anything! I love it and can't wait for next Wednesday. It should be pretty fun, because it will be the ONLY time me & my little sister will dance TOGETHER. Never thought that would happen! Woot. Woot.

Me & My Best Friend Jaynee doing THRILLER my Senior Year in High School. Don't we just look fabulous???

Playing Catch Up

So my free time had decreased quite a bit now that school has started.
Blogging has been put on the back burner it seems like, because when I actually have time for fun, I chose to do something besides sit at my computer and blog, but here is what has been happening in my life...

Sept. 8- Me and Tyler celebrated our one year mark! We had tons of homework to do that night, so it really put a damper on things but we celebrated anyways. It was great. I attempted to finish a slide show with all our pictures on it for him, but it didn't get finished...and STILL is not finished. Sorry Tyler :( We didn't have a lot of time for fun, but we did go to dinner. We went to Chili's and Tyler got sick from it and hardly ate a thing, so that was a bummer, but we still had a good time. He also surprised me with flowers and the Nixon watch that I've been begging him for, for several months (he bought it back in May, but it needed a new battery). Once we got our homework done, we had lots of fun goofing around & taking funny pictures on my macbook.

(mine is the pink one, of course!)

My Flowers from Ty :)

I took them home the night I got them cuz I slept there and if I must say so, they looked way more cute in my PINK room at home, than they did at my apt.

Lately I have found interest in some of the most random things...like funny signs...funny moments...and so on...

Things that made my day last week:

I was in a bad mood walking in to school, wishing I was still in bed, and not happy that mornings are getting colder. Anyway, I see this kid out of the corner of my eye walking not to from about 2 seconds after I noticed him, I watched him biff it. Funniest thing of my life, because this was not just any normal fall. He ate it hard. So mean of me to find humor in this, but he seriously tripped over those wheel chair things people have on their cars to help the handicapped get from their wheel chair into their vehicle. Obviously he didn't see it, and whoops. Man down. Sad, that what makes my day probably ruined his, but how could I not laugh at this?

Last Thursday, I overslept and missed class. Tyler luckily is in my class & covered for me, in return I bought him Subway. When I went to pick it up, it was made clear to me that Subway & McDonalds are NOT friends. They had a sign posted that I found to be quite funny. I tried to take a picture of it, but I must not have saved it, because I can't find it on my phone. The sign said...

ATTENTION SUBWAY CUSTOMERS:

MCDONALDS has decided to tow any cars of Subway customers that park in their parking lot. We would like to apologize for MCDONALDS' actions and any inconvenience it may cause.

Talk about pointing fingers.

(This was me rephrasing it. Sorry, I promise the real sign was better.)

So, my parents good friends and neighbors of ours, have 3 VERY VERY cute little kids. Their work schedules overlap occasionally, and since my mom is home by herself during the day & since they are so cute, she gladly volunteered to watch them when their schedules conflict. I LOVE it when they come over and miss seeing them now that I no longer live at home. Last week though, I needed to go home for a bit so got to spend a few hours with their new baby who I'd never met. She is only a few months old and wasn't around the last time I was around when she was watching their kids, but she is so cute. She is such a little cutie, I couldn't get enough of her!

Baby Mylia

Mylia's older brother Max is 3...soon-to-be 4 and I love him to death. Max says the funniest things. I really enjoy talking to him and hearing everything he has to say. Before Mylia was born, I asked Max what he wanted to name his new baby sister. No thinking was required at all on this question. His answer. "STINKY!" The best part of it was he was so serious, but also was quick to add that only him & his grandpa wanted the babies to name to be Stinky and that his mom told him that was not a good name. She wanted to name the baby Mylia. Looks like Mom won :)

Last Wednesday Max informed me that his big sister Maddie doesn't come over anymore, because she is in first grade and she has to be at school ALLLLL Day Long, but that she comes home before it gets dark. The way he said it was so cute. He really emphasized the part about coming home before dark. Heaven forbid she stay at school when its night time.

He also is very cute with the new baby (who by the way, he sometimes still refers to as Stinky). Whenever Mylia cries Max is right their telling us exactly what to do, he always shows us how to rub her cheeks. And he's very cute, because he will start talking to her and telling her it is ok.

I can't wait til I get to play with Max and Mylia again!!! I also can't wait til I have nieces & nephews of my own to play with. (hint.hint.kevin&page.) I am always telling Tyler how lucky he is to have them, because his are so cute and so much fun to be around! His response is always, well if you like them so much, I'm sure my siblings will happily let you babysit :)

Friday was a FANTASTIC day, I got to watch my sister, Natalie dance. My mom & I went to her Homecoming Pep Assembly to watch. She looked so good and made me remember how much I loved Drill Team. After the assembly, I helped my little brother, who was home sick work on an autobiography that he is writing for school. He has a mac laptop he gets to bring home to do his homework on and had to include pictures for this story. His story was so funny to read, particularly the part who wrote about me. Tyler actually got more lines in his story than I did, that is because Tyler has a "cool" car. I didn't know cars were so important to 11 year olds. It was fun to help him find pictures to use for his story though. I also went to lunch with my mom at Kneaders and it was great to spend time with her. That night I got to watch Natalie dance a second time at their homecoming football game. Once again she did a great job and I am so proud of her. For a sophomore, she is sure kicking butt. Their football team lost as always, but the drill team is sure looking great! Love you Nattie!!!

Lehi Pionettes 09-10

This is the whole team. I had to steal this picture from facebook (hence the blurriness) so I will have to post mine that I have later, once i get a chance to download them!

Last but not least Sunday, I was able to go to my home ward and hear Nathan talk in the primary program. It was his very last one! He is really growing up. He did a great job, and brought tears to several eyes. His talk was about the plan of salvation and talked about the passing of our grandma 3 years ago. He did such an excellent job bringing the spirit into the meeting. Thanks Nate!

Also, props to my mom for Sunday dinner. It was good eating with everyone, including Page & Kevin again. It has been a while since I've gone home for dinner and was nice to visit with everyone. Love you all!

Here is to Happiness (inspired by Chels...who was inspired by Rockstar Diaries)

So if any of you are familiar with Rockstar Diaries you are probably familiar with all of Taza's happiness lists she is constantly making...well my best friend Chelsey made her own happiness list so I thought I would do the same...so here it is.

Things that make me happy...

Driving when I have nothing better to do

Family parties

Taking and looking at pictures

Dancing til my body hurts

Butterfly kisses

Dr. Pepper

Talking about Nothing

Running into people I know in the craziest of places

Getting my hair played with

The way Tyler talks to me when I'm tired or upset

Making new friends

R.I.P. Michael

Michael Jackson passed away today...along with Farrah Fawsett! So crazy I can't even believe it. And although I think that Michael is a chester/creeper (there is a reason I posted a picture from his younger years...didn't want to scare anyone.) I believe he was amazingly talented and brought a lot of great music and most IMPORTANTLY: great dance moves to this world! He is a legend and will never be forgotten! No one will ever be able to dance like Michael! :(
