WISHING EVERYONE A HAPPY AND SAFE
(hopefully fire-free!)
4TH OF JULY!!!
I will be working for part of the day, but then Tyler and I will be celebrating by barbequing
with our friends and family!
There will be fireworks involved, but we won't be lighting them. We're leaving that job up to Lehi's fire dept.
We don't want to be responsible for anything like this...

A Day for Dad's

I'm a lucky girl, that's all I can say. I have the best dad in the world as far as anyone is concerned and Tyler can say the same thing about his own dad!
Between the 2 of us we're blessed with some pretty darn great men in our lives.

Happy Fathers Day to my Wonderful Dad and Father-in-Law!
We sure love you both and are so blessed to have men like you as our dad's.

(...and to my own dad, I think I deserve favorite child status for A. Writing this post and B. Not abandoing you like a few other children on this special day!)

Valentines Day!

Tyler and I had a great Valentines Day this year. I had work and Tyler had school, but by 3:00 we were both home and ready to celebrate. And like any smart man, he didn't forget to bring flowers!

Being the good wife I am...I remembered the cake bites!
We went to Goodwood for a late lunch/dinner and the place was practically empty. I think we might have to try to do it every year! It was so nice to not have to wait.

After that we went and did a little shopping to decide what Duvet we wanted for our bed. Of course, we didn't buy it because heaven forbid we buy anything at an actual store when you can get it online. I have been dying to just have it and we have a gift card $120, plus a 20% off coupon for Bed Bath and Beyond, but Tyler is still convinced we can get it for cheaper online. Crazy husband. We also went and browsed around at RC Willey's just for fun, we weren't in the market to buy anything but got chased down by every salesman there. There was an old lady who was very aggressive and really trying hard to sell us a fridge, as if we actually needed one. We went home for a bit to kill some time and then we went to the movies and saw This Means War. It was sooo funny and we both loved it, although there were lots of annoying people sitting around us and drove us crazy...Tyler swore he's never going to go to the movies again, but we'll see about that. We topped the night off with a little bit of One Tree Hill and called it a success.

I LOVE MY VALENTINE AND WAS SO HAPPY TO SPEND MY AFTERNOON AND EVENING WITH HIM!!!

I LOVE THIS MONTH!!!

Ever since I can remember, February has been my very favorite month with good reason. I love Valentines Day and always have! Its never even be about having a so called "valentine," even as a little girl I loved everything about the day! Valentines at school, creating an awesome "mailbox" for all my valentines and candy hearts...something about it is just so fun and so happy, but still just an ordinary day. And did I mention that I love PINK and red too and together they pretty much make a super-color?!I can't even describe how excited I get for Valentines...the husband will atest that I bring up Valentines Day constantly through out the year...and even better than Valentines Day is the day after! My birthday!!! So much to look forward to!
Happy February everyone!

Memorial Day

I love memorial day because .....

I love remembering my amazing grandparents who have passed on. I was lucky enough to have known all my grandparents and all but one of my great-grandparents...so visiting cemetery's on Memorial Day has become a favorite family tradition.

After our cemetery visit we had fun going to lunch with my family and grandparents and then spent several hours shopping...followed by our first babysitting experience since being married. Our cute niece came over and played with us while her family went to see Rio. We had lots of fun entertaining her, although our apartment isn't exactly equipped for kids...thank goodness for electronics...

Macbooks are pretty much the greatest toy ever...fun for ALL ages!

A Winning Weekend

BYU won on Saturday which means it was automatically a great weekend in Tyler's opinion. That is all that is important! The game was VERY fun even though the first half was extremely hot--it was worth it, it feels great to be back in the stadium cheering on our favorite team again!!!

We saw this on the way to the game...I thought it was pretty funny!

Labor Day was really fun too. We had hopes of going boating, but since it was in like the 60's we decided it was not such a great idea. Instead we went up to the outlets in Park City. We both found some great buys, so it was a very successful shopping day, but the holiday couldn't end there--there had to be more football of course!!! We had a fun little party at Misty & Russ's and watched the Boise State vs. Virginia Tech Game.

Memorial Weekend

Long weekends are wonderful but never long enough.

Friday: consisted of family bowling. sadly, we took no pictures :( nobody brought a camera.
Nathan and his friend were with us and made it a requirement to dance after each bowl. My moves were lame. Tyler had some great ones when he wasn't too shy to bust them out. Nate and Brady's moves were very funny. They even busted out some Michael.

Saturday: Tyler and I went to a bbq at Chels & Mitch's cute new house. It was lots of fun. We enjoyed their company and appreciated the invite. We watched this movie:

I thought it was pretty good...Tyler on the other hand, slept thru it. So it looks like he is going to have to watch it with me again...haha.

Sunday: Church. Movies. Relaxin. Great dinner. Nice walk. Nice drive. Nice Day.

Monday: Family BBQ with the Bullock's. Visited the Pleasant Grove Cemetary. Dollar Movie to see Bounty Hunter for time #2 & Betos, seemed a good idea at the time but I have one word for it, gross.

My dad cleaning Grandma and Grandpa Schaefer's headstone.

 The finished product.

Me & My Siblings.

And I'm extra special and had one more day work free...since Tuesday's are my day off anyway.

Tuesday: Tyler's mom, Kim, had her dance recital and I went and helped out. Recital turned out fantastic. Here is a little clip of her awesome dancer's at her Lindon & Santaquin studio's gettin ready for the big event.

HEART DAY...XOXO

This year was my first year actually having a "valentine" for Valentines Day which was pretty exciting since it just so happens that this is my FAVORITE holiday. For one, if you know me at all you know that my favorite color is pink. I absolutely love it. So a day devoted to Pink & Red and all sorts of girly stuff...it just fits. Anyway, the Friday before Valentines, Tyler (my cute boyfriend), gets all serious and kinda worried and tells me he has no clue what to do. He's never done this whole Valentines thing before and is clueless. He was all worried that restaurants would be packed so didn't think going to dinner would be the brightest of ideas. Then came my favorite part, he says...Nicole, I would make dinner but I don't know how to cook. Lucky for him, he got it all figured out. And I must say, it was a perfect date! Tyler came and picked me up and brought me flowers. We went to dinner at Applebees and only waited 10 minutes!!! Crazy I know! Then we went back to his brother and sister-in-laws apartment who had kindly given Tyler the keys so we could watch a movie. We watched Made of Honor...which tells you right there how cute Ty was being because Chick Flick and Tyler do not go in the same sentence. I really appreciated it though! We finished off the great night with Ice Cream from SubZero and a nice little chat!
